Celebrate Witches!

Please join us for a rare daytime afternoon with Christine Colby to celebrate the second printing of the Witches magazine she worked on. Like any magazine, this was a team effort, but Christine curated all of the content and wrote about three-quarters of it. The articles that she didn't write herself, she chose and re-edited to fit the print format. It was a lot of work, and she’s very proud that it's not only been reprinted (with several improvements!), but that it's now labeled as a "Best Seller"!

As always, there will be a tarot reader on site if you'd like a reading while you're there.

And if you've never been to Hekate, note that it's an alcohol-free venue. Learn more here: https://www.cbsnews.com/.../no-alcohol-all-fun-uniquely.../

If you prefer a boozy drink while you're out, never fear, Hekate’s sister bar, Lucky, is right across the street, where you can find almost every kind of alcohol you want—except bro drinks. Zip over for a nip, and then come back and join us! They’ll also be hosting a Krafting for Kamala event you may want to check out, even if you don’t want their booze.

The Witches magazine is currently on stands at Barnes & Noble, grocery stores, and drugstores, and I'll also have some copies available for purchase.

Three Year Anniversary Celebration!

On October 1 2021, still experiencing the effects of a global pandemic, we optimistically signed the lease for 167 Avenue B, planning on opening an alcohol free bar. Hedging our bets, we knew we'd be serving coffee and tea and utilizing part of the space for quirky gifts, unsure how a social space that LOOKED like a bar but that didn't serve booze would go over. Since that day, we've been on quite the rollercoaster ride! We've had people come in asking for actual booze, resulting in the explanation that, yes, we are a bar, but no, we don't serve alcohol. We've had to rethink our coffee service, learning how to make that all happen. We've turned over half of our shelf space to NA products, when the biggest NA bottle shop franchise in America closed its doors. Over 40 press outlets have featured us on air and in print, as well as online. And we've watched as alcohol free spaces opened up across the country and here in NYC.

To say we weren't sure how it all would go would be an understatement! But we couldn't be more pleased with how "on vision" things are, currently, and how well the public has embraced what we are doing. We have YOU all to thank! And we are going to celebrate YOU!

We will also be kicking off Sober October! You can expect 31 days of sober-centric events, from our monthly Enchanted Card Party to sober dating night, our monthly Queer Meetup to a Full Moon party, and more!

Join us for an evening of celebrating three years of pure vision, occasional stumbling, finding our footing, and thriving! We'll have treats and giveaways, and a complimentary toast to more years of sober celebrations. Cheers!

Friday the 13th!

Woooooo! Spoooooky! Do you suffer from triskaidekaphobia? Or are you a lover of all things scary? You can easily assume where WE fall on that topic! So tonight we will be celebrating Friday the 13th (the day, not the movie) and all the PAGAN beauty behind this demonized day!

What are the pagan attributions of Friday the 13th? Fridays are the day of Freya, Venus, and Ishtar and the number 13 is numerologically the number of cycles rebirthing and the number of lunations in the calendar year.

How are we celebrating this Femme Rebirth moment in Eclipse Season? By celebrating the Huge Witch’s 34th Solar Return & Birthday! The 18th is her birthday and on the 23rd is her 9th soberversary, so come get a 0 proof cocktail and a slice of cake to celebrate her life and accomplishments! @hugewitch

We’re also holding a Party Raffle with fabulous prizes. Buy a single ticket for $5 or three tickets for $12 and enter to win a Bottle of Lyre’s Prosecco, a 30-Minute Birth Chart Reading with Huge Witch, and more! We’ll pull the last raffle winner at last call on IG Live at @hugewitch

The whole evening will be set to a spooky soundtrack of witchy tunes, with Sierra behind the bar, mixing the magical elixirs. Join us! If you aren't toooooo scared!

Rae Leonard Book Event: High Sobriety

Join us for an evening with Rae Leonard, author of High Sobriety: A trip Out Of The Bottle And Into Your Intuition. Rae will be reading from her book, selling and signing copies, and answering questions.

Rae Leonard is an intuitive, energy worker, author, and researcher and is skilled in a number of alternative healing modalities. Her latest book is HIGH SOBRIETY: A trip Out Of The Bottle And Into Your Intuition, a wild read where she shares her rocky road of addiction with a wry gleam. Her story moves from fleeting glimpses of her past, to a transformation of a life now filled with limitless self love, jubilant health, and boundless joy.

In her intuitive practice, Rae combines her innate gifts with “Healy”, a frequency device that sees divine beings in their most exalted state of health, physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually, in their highest state of consciousness. Healy technology delivers energetic adjustments which bring her clients effortlessly into that matching bioenergetic state by communicating to the quantum field, the information field in the unseen realm, that is just waiting for us to tap in. As Albert Einstein said, “Match the frequency of the reality that you want and you can not help but get that reality. This is not philosophy, this is physics.”

Rae works with The Holistic Health Community in Stone Ridge, New York, where alternative health practitioners offer a wide range of services at no charge to the community. She feels it is a model for a new paradigm of health care that addresses body, mind and spirit and that favors the least invasive modalities whenever possible!

Rae reminds us that we are not victims in this life. We are Divine Angelic Infinite Beings who can decide to change our lives at any moment. Rock bottom is simply when you quit digging.
