Join our resident craftmistress, artist and educator, Daniella D., for this fun December crafternoon! It will be a magical day of vintage and art vending outside, plus music and creativity, and Daniella's monthly workshop from 3-5pm, inside at Hekate.
Tree lighting in Tompkins at dusk!
Come create with Daniella, along with other local creative spirits. We'll be making Victorian-inspired pomanders with oranges, and also creating tin art from upcycled tin. You'll be able to inscribe your tin and use your tin pieces as embellishments, accessories, or good luck charms.
Pomanders date back to the Middle ages, and in Victorian times, oranges, cloves, oils, and a golden ribbon adorned these great-smelling holiday handicrafts. They may also be used as a recovery charm in witchcraft. The pomander that Mia Farrow wore around her neck in Rosemary's Baby played a central role in the film! Folk art tin candle holders illuminated life in Victorian times.
Enjoy one of Hekate's inspiring alcohol free elixirs, or coffee concoctions, while you relax amongst art and bask in good witch vibes!
Daniella D. has years of experience as an artist, educator, and purveyor of offbeat art events. She holds a BA of Fine Arts in Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, and Art Restoration. She teaches one monthly workshop class at Hekate, which features an art, craft, or costume class for all levels of creative types, or for those who want to incorporate more creativity into their lives.
