Exaltation: Pride Through Creative Expression

Join us for the opening night of our Pride Month art show! Exaltation: Pride Through Creative Expression features work by Donna Aceto, Larry Krone, Brian Soigné Wilson, Sara Wasserman, and Sierra Margolies.

Sara Wasserman is an artist, freelance animator, and doll maker from Brooklyn, NY. She works with digital mediums to create 2D animations as well as traditional drawings. This piece is an example of a deconstructed animation on paper. You can find her on instagram at @kiki.carface.

Donna Aceto is an event and community street photographer for 30 years whose photographic passion is political. Her involvement in resistance movements is reflected in her photography of Black Lives Matter, Gays Against Guns, The Queer March, Rise and Resist, and other direct action affinity groups. Her clients include major AIDS organizations, and the NY Civil Liberties Union. Donna photographs for and is a consulting picture editor at Gay City News.

By intermixing his own labor-intensive handiwork with that of the anonymous creators of found needlework projects, Larry Krone creates a conceptual collaboration that spans unknown generations, histories, and physical distances. Krone is a visual and performing artist as well as a set, costume, and fashion designer as House of Larreon. He has exhibited and performed at The Whitney, Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, The RISD Museum, The New Museum, Joe's Pub at the Public Theater and more. Krone is currently writing his first book, More Than You Need to Know About an Artist You've Never Heard Of, a multi-genre self portrait/memoir.

Brian Soigne` Wilson is a visual and performance artist who lives in Brooklyn, New York with his husband. He attended the Art Academy of Cincinnati.
